[ArtEvo] True Self ?

For ArtEvo competition. R1 theme is Split.

I tried to depict how we try to split our lives : virtual on one side, and real on the other. But behind our nicknames and personas, our true self probably shows up more than what we show in real life. Thus, no matter how much we try to get these two aspects of ourself separated, the boundary gets blurry. For this I chose to represent myself, hiding my true identity behind my persona's face showing through a tablet screen.

Behind this mask, we do various things, and for me it is art, so the background has previous works I made. They are virtual achievements, but they requested true investment. Somehow we try to keep these works in this virtual world. We barely talk about this life to the people in real life. So we try to keep them in this cage, made out of internet… but one day or another the boundary gets blurry between these two parts of ourselves.
